Cape Town Olympics
2018 | "Illustrator and Designer", Shenkar Imaginary mascot for Cape Town's Olympics 2018, based on the African Ndebele doll. The doll has no arms which was the trickiest and most interesting part of the design. Each sport was stripped down to one powerful movement. The hair is very prominent on the physical doll, therefore it had to have an important role here too. Using the hair as hands added some fun and lightness to the mascot's poses, and gave a lot of life to it, considering that I chose not to add too many details to the face. This project was featured and published in the book "Mascot Design" by SendPoints.
